As a human performance specialist, yoga instructor, and holistic lifestyle coach, I work hard to practice what I preach. I aspire to find balance in everything that I do. As a former college football player, competitive Olympic Weightlifter and SUP racer, my first love is finding balance through movement. By always changing up your training activities and locations, you not only engage your body but also your mind. In the past year, I took up partner acrobatics and I discovered that I enjoy lifting people more than weights. It's a great thrill to balance friends upside down in my hands, and it's an honor to facilitate new experiences. I'm aware through my own body that movement and training need to be changed up from time to time in order to continue growing.
Equally, and if not more important though, is finding balance in your internal being. As a society, we understand cleansing our bodies through things like juicing etc. but rarely do we understand or appreciate the importance of cleansing other areas of ourselves. We don't, for example, take the time to clear out our minds. Taking a deeper look into your thoughts, can help improve your lifestyle more than you imagine possible. We are constantly bombarded by stimuli to all of our senses and, just like our muscles, they can become over trained.
Take time to review and revalue what exactly are you listening to, seeing, eating, feeling etc. Doing so will have a huge and positive impact on your life.
