A Day in the Life of The Banks
...
As a V1 ACTV Club Trainer, Tonal Coach and owner of my own fitness company, my days are usually jam packed. You can find me bouncing around from filming fitness routines, training clients, finding time for myself, and everything in-between. My schedule tends to be unforgiving and I often don't have a lot of time to change from one activity to the next. The Banks Short have, without a doubt, become my go-to uniform and favorite athletic shorts for just about everything my day throws at me. From running shorts to swim trunks, the Banks can do it all. This is just a taste of what an average day looks like for me. You’ll see why these shorts have become my actual support system!
You read that correctly - wrapping up. As a coach for Tonal, my days start early with filming instructional videos. Today, we wrapped up around 8 AM and I got a jump start on the rest of my day. At this point I've already taught a class, but sometimes it feels like more depending on how many takes we need for each video.
Even before social distancing and outdoor workouts were required, I’ve always tried to take my workouts outside. I am grateful for the space to train my clients in a safe and healthy way. A few days a week, including this day, I am busy with back-to-back training sessions, including leading a small group and one-on-one personal training.
As you can tell, my days are usually go-go-go. It’s important for me to continue to support my local businesses, including my favorite coffee shop. I use this as an opportunity to take some time for myself amidst my busy day to decompress and re-energize. On a day like today, I don't get many of these moments so I take them when I can. Even though I don’t have time to change, I’m not really worried about it. My Banks Shorts don’t look like your traditional athletic shorts, so it doesn’t look like I just got out of the gym (and with their anti-odor capabilities, I don’t smell like it either).
Post-lunch, I respond to my emails and calls, and work through any admin work I need to accomplish for my business. Then, I’m off again, this time jetting to the beach to start training for the second half of the day. Sometimes I meet my clients for a beach workout, and other days I go for myself. Today was a little bit of both.
One of my favorite workouts is running barefoot on the beach. Not only does it make me feel grounded and help me focus on my natural running gait, but it also helps to strengthen my feet and ankles. I also like to keep my beach workouts fun, whether that’s throwing in some strength training moves or jumping in the water. Because the Banks are unlined and dry quickly, they double as swim trunks. I find they are just as comfortable in the water as they are out of it.
I’m finally done working for the day and ready to soak it all in before I head home. More than ever, I'm thankful for what my body can do and that I get to motivate, inspire and coach others for a living. I use this time to reflect, almost like meditating, in a way. I’m also grateful to have found gear that I can put through the wringer and know it's going to work with me throughout the day and come out looking like a million bucks.
